Star Wars MMO Director Reveals His Regrets About The Game

Blizzard veteran James Ohlen had been with the RPG studio since its beginning but left in the month of October following 22 years buy WoTLK Gold. He's given an interview of sorts to Game Informer that covers a wide range of subjects and is definitely worth a read. Find it here.

One of the most interesting segments in the interview is about Star Wars: The Old Republic the Blizzard's ambitious and costly Star Wars MMO. Ohlen served as the game's director, and he shared one of his regrets about the project. He said he wished the game had more of its own unique sensibilities instead of following the genre-defining and eternally famous World of Warcraft 's path and game's formula so close.

"With Star Wars: The Old Republic I would like to see that I pushed a little bit to make it more like Knights of The Republic online instead of "Star Warcraft World of Warcraft ,'" said the director. "A lot of the feedback we got in the first few days that Star Wars: The Old Republic received upon coming out was, 'Hey, we wanted Knights of the Old Republic Online,' something that was more like the game than one that was more typical within the World of Warcraft sense."

Ohlen produced Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) with Casey Hudson, so it's exciting to think about what he could have accomplished with an KOTOR Online-type game. Whatever the reason, Ohlen said understands that feedback buy WoW WoTLK Classic Gold, but remains extremely proud of The Old Republic.
