Some fans who are part of this OSRS gold project have taken to the town square of Falador in the capital city of one of Runescape's major kingdoms. The goal was to have protests like the protest World of Warcraft players held in July. Players can be seen in the video below, posting the text of a dialogue that criticizes Jagex for the decision and hashtags like #Free117. Another video shows even more people "marching" around Falador Square.

A time ago, something odd began to happen in a game called Old School RuneScape. Suddenly there were lots of new players taking part in the game, and they were all acting in the same way. They stayed for hours at a time, performing the same task repeatedly. Green dragons were killed, as was the harvesting of gold. They killed even more green dragons, as well as harvesting gold.

It was clear that the new players were gamers refer to as "gold farmer." They were winning gold during the game, and later converting the game's gold into real cash by selling it to other players on underground sites. It's been going on for yearsand many games prohibit it, but the practice continues.

The main question was why did there suddenly appear to be so many new players joining Old School RuneScape? The answer lies in one single economy that was crashing. Venezuela. A frenzied hyperinflation rate was ruining the currency of the nation. And for thousands of RS gold gaming gold was becoming a means of refuge.
