The pseudotype virus has the genome of a known virus but is instead encapsulated with the protein coat of another type of virus. Similar to a wild-type virus, and because the nucleic acid wrapped does not have the ability to replicate to form the entire nucleic acid sequence of the virus, pseudovirus is biosafe, nucleic acid stable, and not easily degraded.
